Turning Point

Clouds above and below DSC_0554The blue of the sky ~
Is reflected intensely
On the surface of the water ~
As are my familiar
Face and body ~
My doppelgänger ~

Clouds above and below ~
I stand balanced here
On the silver line
That separates the two ~
Caught ~ it would seem ~
Between two realities ~

In the eyes of the world
I have already chosen ~
But I think I will decide
What becomes of me ~
I am the only one
Who knows the truth ~

I must choose my
Course of action wisely ~
My destiny rests
On what I do tonight ~

I'm either a transplanted East Coaster or a born again West Coaster. My heart kept pulling me toward Oregon, and when I followed it I found my dream, which I am living daily. My dream of becoming a writer has come true as well. I am in the company of people who speak my language, and the sense of community is healing hurts I didn't know were there. I am very grateful for my enormous good fortune.

    • I’ve been noticing a common theme lately. I’m beginning to think I have a big decision coming up. And thank you, Martha, as always.

  3. I like the doppelgänger bit. I looked again at the photo, and I espied her reflection. You describe this beautifully Melody.

    • I confess, I’ve always wanted to use the word and I was happy when I found a place for it here. The picture was a real find; it fit perfectly. I’m glad you like it, thank you.
